The University of Pennsylvania School of Arts and Sciences’ College of Liberal and Professional Studies (LPS) has become the first Ivy League school to offer a bachelor’s degree accessible online.
Starting in the Fall 2019, Penn LPS Online will offer a new bachelor of applied arts and sciences (BAAS) degree for working adults and nontraditional students. The course combines general-education requirements with interdisciplinary concentrations.
Established by an advisory board of Penn Arts and Sciences faculty, the program aims to connect students to successful professional and career outcomes. The BAAS degree is almost entirely online with only two limited on-campus professional experiences.
Penn LPS Online is also launching for-credit certificate programs in leadership and communication, creative writing, professional writing, positive psychology, data analytics, modern Middle Eastern studies and climate change with all to be available next year.
Applications for the BAAS program and certificates are open now.
