July 17, 2015 – Cypress, CA) Trident University International (Trident) is excited to introduce new President & CEO Travis Allen, who stepped into the role in June. Allen has 18 years of experience in the education industry, most recently serving as the Interim Chancellor at Argosy University in Orange, CA.
Prior to that, Allen was Vice Chancellor of Operations for Argosy with operating responsibility for all of the institutions, both ground and online. Additionally, he has held senior management positions at Endeavour Learning Group and University of Phoenix.
Argosy is a 27-campus system with a large online operation. Both Argosy and Trident are accredited by the Western Association of Schools & Colleges (WASC). Both schools share a commitment to student success and cater to the busy adult learner.
Throughout his career, Allen has shown a commitment to excellence across different types of universities in both the United States and Australia, including a new campus start-up, a large multi-campus university, and a large online division. Allen has extensive leadership experience, having directed teams across student finance, student services, admissions, marketing, and general administration.
Allen is passionate about the student experience, developed during his time as a university faculty member in both online and brick and mortar settings. It’s his belief that an optimal student experience will create the best environment for student success.
“We are fortunate to have someone of Allen’s caliber to lead Trident University. With his leadership acumen and focus on creating the best environment for student success, we are confident in Allen’s ability to make Trident an even better place to learn,” Dr. Karen J. Viechnicki, Chair, Trident Board of Trustees.
Allen holds a Master of Business Administration in eBusiness and a Bachelor’s of Science in Business Marketing, both from University of Phoenix.
Former President and CEO Andy Vaughn amicably departed Trident in June due to personal reasons. During his tenure, the university continued to improve the student experience through the launch of several new initiatives, including Trident Fastrac, a new shorter session structure, and MyTLC, a new learning system and student support center. In March of this year, Trident launched a new, mobile-optimized website.
Trident University, a leading 100% online post-secondary institution that offers degrees at the bachelor’s, master’s, and doctorate levels, is committed to its community of adult learners and 20,000 alumni. Founded in 1998, the University is regionally accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC).
