At H.O. we congratulate new education leaders that have embarked on the challenging but very rewarding journey of education leadership.

 

Teresa Abi-Nader Dahlberg

Teresa Abi-Nader Dahlberg, current provost and vice chancellor for academic affairs at Texas Christian University, began her presidential tenure at the University of Tampa on June 1, 2024. With over 20 years of experience as a faculty member and administrator, she served as dean of the College of Engineering and Computer Science at Syracuse University (NY), as chief academic officer and dean of the Albert Nerken School of Engineering at Cooper Union for the Advancement of Science and Art (NY), and associate dean of the College of Computing and Informatics at the University of North Carolina Charlotte. She has a bachelor’s degree from the University of Pittsburgh and, a master’s degree and a Ph.D. from North Carolina State University.

Sr. Mary Hughes

The Dominican University New York Board of Trustees has appointed Sr. Mary Hughes, O.P., Ed.D., to serve as Interim President, starting on January 2, 2024. Sr. Hughes is a member of the Sisters of St. Dominic, Congregation of the Holy Cross, Amityville, NY. Her early ministerial activity was in elementary education, and later on, after completing advanced studies, she ministered as a teacher educator both at St. Francis College in Brooklyn NY, and then at Iona University, NY. Sr. Hughes was Chair of the Education Department at Iona and later was Special Executive Assistant to the President and Campus Dean. She has been an Adjunct Professor at the Fordham University Lincoln Center Campus for more than nine years.

Chance M. Glenn

Chance M. Glenn Sr., Ph.D., has been appointed the 10th president of Buffalo State University, effective July 1, 2024. Glenn is a professor of electrical engineering, an inventor, and an innovator. He has served as provost and vice president for academic affairs at the University of Houston-Victoria since 2019. He previously served as the dean of the College of Engineering, Technology, and Physical Sciences at Alabama A&M University and as associate dean of the Office of Graduate Studies at the Rochester Institute of Technology. Glenn holds a BS in electrical engineering from the University of Maryland, and an MS and Ph.D. in electrical engineering from Johns Hopkins University. He also holds a certificate in management development from the Harvard Graduate School of Education.
