WB And CBS Co-Fund More Than $600K In Two-Year Grants
Inspired by the hit comedy “Young Sheldon” The Chuck Lorre Family Foundation (TCLIFF) has created The Young Sheldon STEM Initiative to continue funding innovative efforts in STEM education. The new grant program intends to excite science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) learning in the nation’s public schools, teachers and students.
TCLIFF founder Chuck Lorre, executive producers Steven Molaro and Jim Parsons, Warner Bros. Television Group and CBS have co-funded more than $600,000 in two-year educational grants. These grants will be awarded to 19 select elementary, middle and high schools in Southern California, where most of “Young Sheldon” is produced, and East Texas where the show takes place. Together the cast has attended four of the 19 schools selected. Additionally the show is filmed at one of the selected schools.
These 19 schools will be recognized as Young Sheldon STEM Initiative Grant Recipients and awarded a two-year grant from TCLIFF to support their school’s STEM teachers and educational programs.

~John Muir Middle School (6–8)
Los Angeles Unified School District (1)
~Van Nuys High School (9–12); “Young Sheldon” films regularly at this school
Klein (Texas) Independent School District (3)
~Klein Oak High School (9–12); Jim Parsons attended this school
~Strack Intermediate School (6–8); Jim Parsons attended this school
~Haude Elementary School (K–5); Jim Parsons attended this school
Tomball (Texas) Independent School District (5)
~Tomball High School (9–12)
