College Honored for Students' Return on Investment and Support Towards Professional Success
(Manchester, New Hampshire) - Saint Anselm College has been recognized as one of the best in the U.S. for academics, affordability, financial aid, and supporting students towards graduation, successful careers and fulfilling lives.
In an announcement this week, The Princeton Review selected Saint Anselm College for inclusion in the 2017 edition of Colleges That Pay You Back: The 200 Schools That Give You the Best Bang for Your Tuition Buck.
The report was based on analysis of over 650 colleges to calculate return on investment ratings, including examination of data regarding academics, cost, financial aid, graduation rates, and student debt. Starting and mid-career salaries of alumni based on an online compensation survey were also considered.
"College is a major financial investment and we want to help students and their families get the biggest return on that investment," said Robert Franek, The Princeton Review's Editor-in-Chief and lead author, Colleges That Pay You Back. "The colleges we have identified offer superb value; not only will students get a great education, but students benefit from generousfinancial aid, extraordinary career services programs, alumni connections and career opportunities like internships that will help students find jobs when they graduate."
The Princeton Review notes 98% of the class of 2015 at Saint Anselm College was employed, in graduate school, or engaged in service within 6 months of graduation, and also ranks the college as one of the country's best institutions for an undergraduate education and number 12 out of 3,000 national colleges for its food.
Saint Anselm College is a four-year liberal arts college providing a 21st century education in the Catholic, Benedictine tradition. Founded in 1889, Saint Anselm is located in southern New Hampshire near Boston and the seacoast. The college is well-known for its strong liberal arts and nursing programs, the New Hampshire Institute of Politics and a legacy of community service by students.
"Inclusion in this publication reinforces the fact that a Saint Anselm education has tremendous value," said Eric Nichols, Vice President of Enrollment and Dean of Admission. "Technical and business skills can help graduates get in the door for their first job, but it is an ability to think critically and communicate effectively which can play an equal, if not larger, role in determining long term success--and that is the foundation of a liberal arts education."
Colleges That Pay You Back describes Saint Anselm College as promoting the academic, moral and ethical traits of its students:
"Saint Anselm College encourages you not only to challenge yourself academically, but also to lead a life that is both creative and generous. Saint Anselm students are active both in and out of the classroom.
"Saint Anselm College prepares students for life. With a liberal arts education, they're ready for real career experience, for the challenges that lie ahead. They take their Saint Anselm experience with them to think critically, communicate effectively, and solve problems creatively.
Saint Anselm graduates are CEOs, doctors, engineers, teachers, marketers, and researchers. They are humanitarians, healers, and philanthropists. They graduate Saint Anselm with the drive to achieve, empowered to make the world a better place."
The Colleges That Pay You Back project is an expansion of The Princeton Review's annual
Best Value Colleges book and list first published in 2004. The first edition of the book was published with Random House in 2011.
