The City University of New York (CUNY) is being awarded a five-year, $3.97 million Louis Stokes STEM Pathways and Research Alliance Implementation Project grant from the National Science Foundation. Thirteen CUNY institutions are using the grant to increase the number of underrepresented minority students in STEM.

13 CUNY Schools Using Money To Increase Minority Students In STEM
The City University of New York (CUNY) is being awarded a five-year, $3.97 million Louis Stokes STEM Pathways and Research Alliance Implementation Project grant from the National Science Foundation. Thirteen CUNY institutions are using the grant to increase the number of underrepresented minority students in STEM.
Participating colleges include Hostos Community College, Bronx Community College, Guttman Community College, Baruch College, CCNY Engineering, City Tech, Medgar Evers, College of Staten Island, Brooklyn, Queens College and Hunter College.
Lehman college is the program sponsor overseeing the project. The program is designed to engage minority students in STEM majors by providing them with the proper tools in research, training and academic support to prepare them for graduate schools and eventually through STEM careers.
CUNY schools now join fellow schools aiming to lead minority students in STEM fields.
